visual example of what we would like to accomplish

Circean wants to make the practice stage of tattooing circular, proposing a new alternative service and product.

Long description

Some may argue that when an industry grows their residues grow. We believe this is not always the case.

The tattoo industry is one of the oldest, these past years there’s been a massification of the industry. The tools and procedures have been forced to evolve and adapt. They have been affected by the capitalist mindset, a mindset that celebrates one use-product. This practice promotes linear processes, which are harmful to the environment.

We’ve decided to focus on the practice stages of tattoo artists. Which include the use of fake skin to tattoo on while practicing. Once this fake skin is all inked up it’s thrown into the trash and then they start over with a new one, which creates a whole new group of residues. We want to give the user an option where they can still do what they love while still having a positive impact.

Circean is looking forward to changing the process with a new product and a new service. We are developing a new tattooing ink that is erased with heat, so in the practicing process the artists can re-use their fake skin. We’re also working on a service that will rent out fake skin to tattoo on and tattooing machines to practice. This way we’re making sure this part of the process becomes circular.
