Rhodomaxx is a seaweed bio-refining company that looks at seaweed from an alternative perspective.  That is why we are categorizing our innovation as a system unlike the conventional idea of services & system from an IT perspective. Instead, of just looking at seaweed for a particular product for example packaging. We are looking at seaweed and it’s function in the ecosystem.

Seaweed being a plant absorbs nutrients from the water column and decomposes in the sea once it perishes or is an edible food source for marine animal. Therefore, we are looking these two natural functions of the seaweed in the natural system and how to translate it in the modern day market.

The world is now facing a problem with an overreliance on fossil fuel, which has contributed to plastics pollution problem and also a nutrient imbalance in the ecosystem via the use of synthetic fertilizer. Our innovation aims to solve this problem by harnessing the roles that seaweed play in nature systems by producing seaweed based ag-inputs that closes the nutrient cycle by closing the nutrient cycle and allowing coastlines to become it’s own fertilizer mine via the harvesting of nutrients in the water column with seaweed rather than machinery. We then look at how with single use plastics making it’s way into the ocean how can we work with this linear lifecycle and solve with a material that comes from the sea and wouldn’t harm the ocean if it makes it’s way back into the sea.
