Designing and constructing a collapsible, mobile bamboo dome using steel or recycled plastic for community events and semi-permanent low-income housin
Long description
The project aims to design and construct a bamboo dome that is both easily collapsible and mobile, making it versatile and suitable for a variety of settings. The dome’s structural joineries will be made from either steel or recycled plastic, ensuring durability and sustainability. Bamboo has been chosen as the primary material for this project due to its fast growth rate, which makes it a highly renewable resource. Additionally, bamboo has excellent structural properties and a high rate of carbon sequestration, making it an environmentally friendly option.
The dome structure is intended to be used for a variety of events, including festival stages, vending shelters, wedding reception ceremonies, and even semi-permanent low-income housing structures. Furthermore, the dome structure can be used for outdoor corporate events.
This project seeks to align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing sustainable and eco-friendly solutions to the community.
