Biohub is an initiative on the waste management and regulation of organic wastes to become a city practice.
Long description
When the global waste composition is examined, it has been determined that 46% of the municipal solid wastes are organic wastes. Organic wastes are included in a non-recyclable system without being separated, without taking part in the cycles that should be in their own normal. The climate crisis and the near future scenarios invite people to be careful about waste. Organic wastes provide opportunities for us to re-establish the product-result balance by taking part in the cycle where they should be included at this point, to revitalize the destroyed soils and increase biodiversity. With the compost method, organic wastes can turn into organic fertilizers and create new living opportunities for idle areas.
In the city; We need a new urban practice in parks, picnic areas and social areas. The starting point of Biohub is the idea of waste management and organic waste regulation becoming a city practice. It is aimed to create an area that can manage a natural cycle on its own and provide gains in the name of biodiversity wherever it goes.
The reuse of marble dust creates a new conceptual sustainability cycle within design.
The system can be summarized as the disposal of organic wastes, fragmentation, mixing with the soil, consumption by worms and regeneration in order to be able to grow them again in the form of organic fertilizer. The manure produced can be used to improve green areas, balcony gardening, and destroyed agricultural areas in the city.
