• For years, Kibera slums the biggest slum in Africa has experienced the persistent problem of environmental pollution. The main reason for this has been poor waste disposal into rivers, drainage systems and open spaces. We seek to reduce the pollution effects from the aforementioned wastes through a multi-sectoral stakeholder collaboration approach across all players in the value chain.The goal is to ensure that each stakeholder plays their part towards achieving the greater collective goal of 100% recycling rate of waste. In addition, there has been  lack of an efficient waste management system with little to near zero effort put by the local authorities into addressing the problem of poor waste disposal leading to accumulation of these waste to unmanageable levels which poses environmental and health risks.
