Lolar is about sustainable, modular clothing design with a focus on diversity and non-binary gender perspectives.

Long description

Lolar is about rethinking clothing from the ground up; instead of having multiple garments, a modular system allows for infinite possibilities with one. This innovative approach to clothing design aims to address the fast fashion industry and the accelerated consumption of clothing, fostering sustainability and questioning people’s perceptions of garments and their consumption habits.

Furthermore, the very nature of the project promotes circular economy practices. By using circular production methods such as the repurposing of modules to expand their expected lifecycle, and the use of low-impact materials such as vegetable fibers, Lolar aims to minimize the environmental impact of the fashion industry. Additionally, the modular system allows for easy repair and customization, encouraging customers to create a deeper emotional connection with their garments – and as a result, to maintain and continue using them for longer periods of time. This not only reduces the need for purchasing new clothes, but also supports the circular economy by keeping materials and resources in use for as long as possible.

The long-term relevance of Lolar is clear: by promoting sustainable and modular clothing design, it aims to shift the way we think about and consume clothing. By encouraging people to use and maintain garments for longer periods of time, it reduces the environmental impact of the fast-fashion industry and supports the circular economy.
