Mongers is a mobile app on which users can find markets near their location, find out what types of sellers are available and when they are available. This app has a low barrier to entry and provides all the necessary information a user might need without requiring their input.
Mongers aims to introduce and increase awareness of farmers markets to a new generation while building up the selling power of local sellers and producers. This app will achieve this goal by providing clear and easy-to-understand information about farmers markets in the area of the users’ choice. On top of that, users can easily find open air markets in regions they’re new to and it will help them integrate into their new community.
With increased awareness of the farmers markets, we aim to drive more customers to them instead of the big brand supermarkets. Promoting farmers markets will reduce requirements for long haul, global transport and make pushes for smaller scale productions that can be reliably sold to a new, eager generation of visitors.
