Can you imagine a renewable and biodegradable resource that’s available all around the world, stronger than steel? Now imagine this resource used in the development of a unique biomaterial. This is Múlipa! A biomaterial fabric made of HUMAN HAIR donated from hair salons.
As society doesn’t even consider human hair as a valuable waste, Chile discard about 500 tons of human hair monthly. Múlipa harness the human hair properties and print them into a new leather alternative that consumes 10% of the water used in traditional leather fabrication. Múlipa can be composted for faster enrichment of the soil or used as a mulch for gradually soil enrichment and water saving. This make Múlipa an unique circular fabric. From everyone to everyone.
