Sometimes solutions are spinning right in front of you.
Long description
Glassfibre reinforced polyester is a 20th century miracle material, but has become a 21th century problem. GRP is everywhere around us. Boats, silo’s, pipelines, cars, construction and the list goes on. Landfill and incineration are the only disposal options for end of life products. This is harmful, especially for the wind industry. We need this type of renewable energy, but the rotor blades are made of GRP and leave such a footprint that it conflicts with their purpose. The early wind farms are now dismantled. Blades were around 30 meters, the current generation is over a hundred meters. It’s eminent we need a solution.
Tiles are everywhere around you. Terraces, driveways, in- and outside walls, bathrooms, sidewalks, hallways and floors. Tens of millions of square meters are produced every year. Almost all of them share the same basic materials: concrete, ceramics and stone. Rivers, mountains and quarries are drained of sand, stone and clay. Transport and production are responsible for huge emissions.
Extreme Eco Solutions has developed Re-Tile, a concept that connects the two challenges above with one solution. We use rotor blades as basic material for all types of tiles, but also for construction parts as an alternative for concrete, steel or tropical wood. We want all our products back after the end of use phase. They will be shredded together with the blades, and become basic material again. Re-Tile will show you that a fresh look at walls or floors might lead to serious positive impact.
