Each pair of individually, handmade Revelo eyeglasses is exquisitely unique.
Our careful and thoughtful design honors the concept of transformation by converting discarded, once used HDPE plastic into highly aesthetic and practical eyewear for anyone with discerning taste, who understands the process of renewal.
Though we select, clean, cut, melt, press, form and polish each frame, there is a moment—a pause in our action—when the alchemy takes over, so that in the final result there is always something new, special and unexpected expressed.
We use HDPE plastic which is much less commonly recycled in the aesthetic industry due to its wide range of colors that don´t blend nicely during an industrial process.
The resistance, flexibility, and smooth surface of HDPE make it an ideal material for durable and functional eyewear and is singular in its patterns. Every color, letter, and symbol embedded into our eyeglasses and cases reveals a story of transformation. Many commonly recognized household products become recognized flecks in our patterns—a spot of Clorox green, Coca Cola red or Nivea Cream blue—in endless and unrepeatable combinations in each pair of glasses.
