Collecting old phones. From Trash to Treasure.
Long description
Almost everyone on this planet has a mobile phone. E-waste (electronic waste) is growing faster than any other solid waste stream. However, less than 20% is being recycled. The problem is that not many people know that electronics, like mobile phones, contain precious metals such as gold and silver.
Around the world there are millions, if not billions, of unused electronic devices like mobile phones just lying around in people’s homes.
NoWa stands for No Waste and is the first and only company in the world that creates jewelry from recycled gold and silver, directly extracted from waste phones.
Our mission is to show that we don’t have to extract gold from the ground at all. The gold is literally up for grabs! With our products we show the value of waste, the importance of recycling and the potential for reuse. In a positive and tangible way. We also encourage people to hand in their old phones.
The mobile phone is an iconic product that everyone is busy with all day long. Let’s make people aware of the value of waste with this product. In a nice way! Let’s reduce that big pile of electronic waste together and make something really beautiful with it. If we want to strive for a circular economy, we must make this tangible for everyone.
NoWa wants to set up a national campaign to stimulate people to hand in their old phones, together with partners, companies and schools.
