A sustainable, circular and social urban initiative in the city's neighborhoods fighting unnecessary consumption
Long description
Share-it! is a social and environmental urban platform in an automatic vending machine configuration. The project seeks to share expensive and necessary tools and products and strengthen social bonds among the community. The main objective is to reduce consumption and unessential spending in the city’s neighborhoods and thus produce a circular economy and a more sustainable environment in the community.
It works like this: at any hour of the day, each resident in a distinct neighborhood, who needs a specific device such as drills, projectors, tent or pumps for bicycles, can easily access the vending machine and borrow it for a duration range between one hour and three days. When done using the tool, the device should be returned to the machine, just like borrowing a book from a library, but 100% automatically.
The project’s main objective is to allow residents to share expensive appliances and tools, thus reducing consumption and curtailing spending. The secondary goal is strengthening collaboration and creating community identity. This community project promotes a circular economy and an environmental approach.
