The design that will spread awareness to the 4 corners of the globe
Long description
We sell handcrafted soaps. We will invite artists to design soap boxes that will be sold on board inflight duty free boutiques. Once they land in their country of destination, they unpack the box, use the biodegradable soap that is inside and unfold the box revealing a limited edition painting that can be framed and hung on the wall.
The motivation behind this project is the following: We in Lebanon are going through a major crisis at all levels including a societal (80% of Lebanese are immigrants living outside of Lebanon), an environmental (Lebanon does not have sewage treatment plants, nor recycling facilities, and since 60% of our population lives in poverty conditions, we are experiencing deforestation at an alarming rate. The government is shying away to shed the light on the problem because people have no other choice to cook and heat their homes). Cholera and Typhoid are becoming the next norm in Lebanon.
The project is to work with designers to establish 3 goals.
1) to create awareness spreading paintings that will spread awareness among the Lebanese diaspora and invite them to help.
2) To sell these designs on duty free boutiques which generate foreign currencies that Lebanon doesn’t have access to since the Government declared bankruptcy in 2019 and the Central Bank defaulted on its bonds.
3) To hire more soap artisans and artists on a part time circular basis to spread the benefits to as many people as possible among the Lebanese population.
