An economic system centred around ownership has made our homes, basements, and workspaces packed with objects — over 10.000 objects per household, according to some estimates. These products add up to huge amounts of resources, labour, and energy, trapped into objects that, in some cases, lay idle for over 90% of their product lifecycle.
Tag-Share is a concept for an open standard for RFID product labelling, to allow for instant sharing and sale of owned products — books, sport equipment, boardgames, clothes, furniture, kitchen appliances, electronics, and more — on P2P sharing websites and second-hand marketplaces.
The vision: bringing thousands of brands, manufacturers, P2P sharing platforms and marketplaces to agree on a product categorisation standard, to unlock frictionless product exchange, repair, and re-sale.
