Creative circular inspired by local artisans.
Long description
Our goal is to bring communities together through locally inspired circular artistry, addressing seasonal air pollution in the Mekong Delta through sustainable use of agricultural waste.
We aim to:
- Discourage farmers from burning agricultural waste after harvest season, promoting sustainable farming practices.
- Protect and preserve traditional textile production techniques.
- Foster community development and collaboration towards a strong ecosystem.
Step 1: Farmer Stage
Our first mission is to tackle seasonal air pollution by promoting sustainable farming practices. Currently, pineapple waste is cleared for land preparation through burning, which contributes to air pollution. Our goal is to encourage farmers to adopt alternative methods and transform pineapple waste into an opportunity for the weaver community.
Step 2: Weaver Community
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. By blending traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary approach, we bring attention to the remaining artisans in Nan. These skilled individuals once served the royal family of the Nan kingdom with their fine work. If these techniques were to disappear, it would be a loss to Northern Thai heritage. “Narm Dream or Korrakod Paanjai” is the leader of this community, the youngest member and the only one in his generation to stay. His dream, and ours, is to show future generations that weaving can be more than just history for this community.”
